The Foundation for Polish Science launches the fifth call for applications in the FOR UKRAINE programme. Thanks to this initiative, scientists from Ukraine can establish cooperation with Polish researchers to carry out joint research in the field of humanities and social sciences. The deadline for submitting applications is 2 June 2025.
The aim of the FOR UKRAINE programme is to support researchers from Ukraine by enabling them to continue their scientific work in collaboration with Polish researchers and institutions.
The programme offers the opportunity to win a one-year grant of 268,800 PLN for a Polish-Ukrainian research project covering issues related to the development of civil society, democracy, European integration or security. Projects must address topics of significant importance to both countries.
The call for applications in the FOR UKRAINE programme is open to pairs of scientists, one from Poland and one from Ukraine. Applicants must have obtained their doctoral degree no more than 12 years prior to the application.. At the time of application submission, the Ukrainian representative must be employed at a Ukrainian research institution, reside in Ukraine, and carry out the project within the country
The application is submitted on behalf of both researchers by a person working in Poland, together with the research institution in Poland where the project will be carried out (host institution).
Thanks to the funds obtained by the Foundation from donors supporting the FOR UKRAINE programme, in the fifth competition it is possible to apply for funding to cover the salary of an additional person – a PhD student – who will be involved in the implementation of the project.
Applications submitted for the competition are evaluated by an international panel of experts appointed by the Foundation for Polish Science.
Applications are accepted only in English via the electronic application system on the website: www.wnioski.fnp.org.pl.
The deadline for submitting applications in the fifth competition is 2 June 2025.
In the fifth competition, the Foundation plans to fund up to 3 grants. The results are expected to be announced in the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Foundation for Polish Science runs a special fundraiser for Ukrainian scientists on https://pomocukrainie.fnp.org.pl/. Everyone can join it at any time. Funds raised from the donations will be used exclusively to involve young researchers from Ukraine to conduct projects in the FOR UKRAINE programme.
Moreover, the programme allows institutions and companies to create partnerships with the FNP aimed at improving the situation of Ukrainian researchers or enabling them to conduct scientific projects.

Фундація Польської Науки (FNP) оголошує п’ятий конкурс у програмі “ДЛЯ УКРАЇНИ”. Завдяки цій ініціативі науковці з України можуть налагодити співпрацю з польськими колегами з метою проведення спільних досліджень у галузі гуманітарних і суспільних наук. Заявки приймаються до 2 червня 2025 року.
Програма “ДЛЯ УКРАЇНИ” має на меті надання підтримки дослідникам і дослідницям з України, щоб вони могли продовжувати наукову роботу у співпраці з польськими вченими та науковими осередками.
Програмою передбачено отримання річного ґранту в розмірі 268 800 злотих на реалізацію польсько-українського наукового проєкту, тематика якого охоплюватиме питання, пов’язані з розвитком громадянського суспільства, демократії, євроінтеграцією чи безпекою.Тема проєктів повинна мати важливе значення для обох країн.
У конкурсі програми “ДЛЯ УКРАЇНИ” можуть взяти участь пара науковців – один із Польщі, другий – з України. Кандидати повинні мати ступінь доктора філософії/кандидата наук, отриманий не більше ніж 12 років на момент подання заявки. Особа, яка представлятиме українську сторону, має бути не лише працевлаштованою в українській науково-дослідницькій установі на момент подання заявки, а й проживати та реалізувати проєкт в Україні.
Заявку від імені обох науковців подає особа, яка працює у Польщі, спільно з установою, що проводить наукові дослідження у Польщі (приймаюча організація) та у якій реалізуватиметься проєкт.
Завдяки коштам, отриманим від донорів, які підтримують програму «ДЛЯ УКРАЇНИ», у п’ятому конкурсі передбачена можливість отримати фінансування оплати праці додаткового члена команди – аспіранта/-ки, який/-а буде залучений/-а до виконання проєкту.
Заявки, подані на конкурс, оцінюватиме міжнародна група експертів, призначена Фундацією Польської Науки.

Кінцевий термін подання заявок у п’ятому конкурсі: 2 червня 2025 року.
У п’ятому конкурсі Фонд планує надати фінансування до трьох грантів. Результати будуть оголошені у четвертому кварталі 2025 року.
